Newsletter: Who’s ‘moving & shaking’ this month, Community Housing Funding and Celebrate Your Volunteers!




Welcome to the April newsletter from the team here at BloomingHR.

This month is one of the busiest times I’ve seen in the sector for some years, with exciting announcements from all levels of government, a huge amount of media coverage and the release of the management transfer tender in NSW. Personally I’ve noticed an influx of talent wanting to join the sector.  A new General Manager position in a non-city location received over 50 applications. Similarly, Regional Manager level positions received upwards of 40 applications. This is exactly what I have been waiting for.  The days of receiving only a handful of applicants are gone.  The talent is literally banging down our doors. People are aware that affordable housing is on the agenda and they want to help.  Look out for our Hot Candidates newsletter and our new ‘Movers and Shakers’ updates to keep across changes and hot talent ready to help your agency ‘blossom’ – pun intended.

Next month, the state dinners for the Australasian Housing Institutes Professional Excellence in Housing Awards commence.  BloomingHR is proud to be a sponsor of these awards this year and we will be attending as many of the dinners as possible throughout May, June and July.  We wish all of our clients the very best of luck with your nominations and look forward to meeting and catching up with as many of you as possible over the course of the ceremonies.

A date for your diaries is 13 & 14 November 2017, when the Not For Profit People conference is taking place in Melbourne.  The 2 day conference is Australia’s biggest event focused on how to attract, manage, train and retain the best people for the NFP sector.  Event organisers are currently inviting applications for guest speakers, which is a great opportunity to share your knowledge, skills and experience with an audience of 500+ leaders and influencers from the NFP sector.  BoomingHR will be exhibiting at this event and we look forward to catching up with our Victorian clients then too.
