Our client has been providing housing to single women since 1982. Single women are the fastest growing group homeless group.This tier 2 registered community housing provider needs your exceptional organisational skills, empathy and sense of urgency and compassion to support these women to sustain their tenancies, put them in touch with support services and encourage their involvement and participation in community programs and other tenant events that help improve their lives.There are two roles currently available:Housing ManagerThe Housing Manager role is permanent, full time for an immediate start. You report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for a portfolio of properties and their tenancies.You must demonstrate:ResilienceExposure and understanding of tenancy management systemsKnowledge of support providersWorking knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA)Ability to collect rent and manage payment plansExperience attending NCAT (tribunal) for when things do not go as plannedAttend and run a selection of tenant engagement and participation initiativesBe able to be an effective, multi-tasking member of the team who works hard and is motivated by helping others.Essential Criteria: To be successful in this role you must have:Have at least 1 years’ experience working in tenancy management in real estate, Housing NSW or governmentHave attended or supported attendance at NCATCommitment to supporting those in crisisExceptional computer skillsExcellent letter writing and communication skills - the ability to diffuse difficult conversationsHave an even temperament who stays calm under pressure and can role model the values of a community services worker.A current and full NSW driving licence (i.e. not probationary)Desirable Criteria:Relevant qualifications in social housing or real estateKnowledge of Housing Pathways and social housing policy and practice.Junior Housing Officer (Traineeship) - Mid year startThis traineeship is a rare and unique entry level opportunity, ideal for those who have recently left High School, return to work Mums or those who are looking for a career change. This length of this traineeship is 12 months; you will work 35 hours per week, with 3 hours per week for study during work time. Completing this traineeship will qualify you with a Certificate IV in Social Housing.No previous experience is required for this role.You must demonstrate:Ability to clearly follow directionsDemonstrate high attention to detailExceptional organisational skillsFantastic Customer Service skillsWell developed verbal and written communication skillsEssential Criteria: To be successful in this role you must have:Have some experience working in any customer facing role (retail, hospitality etc)Commitment to supporting those in crisisIntermediate computer skillsA strong passion to work in community housingHave an even temperament who stays calm under pressure and can role model the values of a community services worker.A current and full NSW driving licence (i.e. not probationary)Some travel within NSW may be required for this role.Please note that being female is a genuine occupational requirement of this role [Sec 31 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977].
