Primary PurposeThe Tenancy Officer provides tenancy services and support to a portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for coordinating support services and community participation programs to support clients sustain their tenancies and improve personal outcomes for them and their families. You will be client focused and have an energetic and positive outlook towards the work you do whilst displaying a commitment to personal safety and a firm but fair attitude with your clients.Reporting to the Team Leader this role will be responsible for:Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with various tenant support agencies and government departments including links with police and support agenciesProvide full tenancy management/property management services to tenants including managing rent arrears, inspections and complaintsMaintaining accurate and update to date tenancy recordsUndertaking initial income reviewsResponding to routine maintenance requests and working closely with the internal Assets team to get repairs doneSupporting tenancy and community participation initiativesWorking collaboratively within the team, office and field environments and contribute to team outcomesSelection Criteria Essential Skills: To ensure success in this position, you must have:Current NSW driver’s license and willingness to travel Certificate IV in Social Housing or Real Estate or equivalent experienceExperience in social or affordable housing or real estate coupled with an understanding of issues affecting socially disadvantaged groups eg drug and alcohol, mental healthDetailed knowledge of the Residential Tenancies ActInnovative and solutions focusedExceptional organisational skills with the ability to work unsupervised and contribute to the overall success of the team.It is a requirement of this position that applicants who apply must have or must be willing to apply for a valid National Police Check, a Working with Children Check and a valid Vulnerable Persons CheckIf you would like to work for an organisation committed to making a positive difference in the community, please apply.
