Newsletter: Careers Breakfast, Award Winners and Fundraise with Biscuits!

Dear All,

The full newsletter can be read online here.

The past month has been a fantastic time for the sector, with the final AHI award receptions taking place in Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne, and as proud sponsors of this year’s awards, BloomingHR was delighted to be in attendance.

We were pleased to see so many of our clients recognised for their outstanding contribution:

Bridge Housing won the ‘Leading Innovation’ award for their HandUP project. Hand Up is an arrears management program that enables tenants at risk of eviction the opportunity to save their tenancy and get their lives back on track. The program involves Bridge offering tenants alternative, non-monetary ways of “repaying” their rental arrears, including; enrolling in study, volunteering in the community, or undertaking treatment to address their underlying issues.

Congratulations to Dr Reece Plunkett and Ally Moodie (pictured above) and everyone at Bridge Housing.

Our Talent Lead, Dolly Miranda, presented the Inspirational Team Member Award in Victoria.  This award was won by Kristie Looney of Property Initiatives Real Estate, a social enterprise real estate agency.

Dolly is pictured alongside AHI Director Chris Chaplin, presented the award to Jeanette Large (on Kristie’s behalf), CEO of Property Initiatives Real Estates.  The profits generated by Property Initiatives Real Estate are then used by community housing provider, Women’s Property Initiatives, to fund affordable housing and create new beginnings for women and children at risk of homelessness.   A great initiative, congratulations Kristie and the team at Property Initiatives Real Estate.

Now that the AHI state award receptions have concluded throughout Australia and New Zealand, we look forward to joining the winners at the Australasian Awards on the 29 November.

The Australasian Awards will be presented during the National Housing Conference 2017.  The conference program has now been published, with confirmation of the Hon Linda Burney MP, Hon Pru Goward MP, Hon Michael Sukkar MP and Senator the Hon Doug Cameron MP all participating in panel discussions over the 3 days.  Register here before the 11 August for the early bird discount.

Looking ahead, BloomingHR has another exciting month ahead, where the team will be rolling out our new Candidate Referral Program and details of our upcoming Breakfast Events for the Community Housing Sector.

Watch this space!

All the best,

Natalie Carrington
CEO, BloomingHR
